    03-A3 Follower Question

    Will a milled "1903 Follower" work in my SC 03-A3?

    Yes, the milled follower will work in your M1903A3, but it can not be installed / removed through the top as a stamped one can. You must remove the trigger guard assy to install or remove it. Installing milled followers in '03A3s was so common by using activities that a caution was added to the TM about it.

    Thanks for feedback.

    I am trying to solve feeding issues. I have correct follower spring, but does not fit follower correctly (as far as I can tell). It causes follower to be pushed to rear and it hangs up. I am thinking of trying a new follower to see if that solves the problem.

    TM 9-1270, which is accessible in the "sticky" section above, has a section on inspection procedures. There are max/min dimensions for magazine springs that you may wish to check. Possibly your spring is fatigued and sagging a bit.
