    My First Enfield!

Hey guys just wanted to post a thread with my first enfield to start off the collection! Going by the info i have gathered from another forum, its a 1942 Lithgowicon No1 Mk3, even though it says Mk2 apparently the stamping is just a bit off!

The barrel has been swapped over to a Sportco LE250/3, and according to the old owner, it hasnt been fired? Due to my inexperienced i cant really comment if thats true or not?

Im looking into getting another .303 barrel, just to make life simple and use it for a fun shooter. Since the photos i have given it a quick once over, but still want to do a full strip down and proper clean!

If anyone knows where i can get hold of a bayonet for a good price, HOPEFULLY matching the same number (long shot i know!!) or even the same year id be happy

    Anyway time for photos!

Heavy barrle brings in ALOT of issues with Reaming and fitting to teh woodwork that exists. particulalry if this is your first enfield I would find somone else to do it for you. there are resources on this forum. I made that mistake and cocked up a couple of woodwork sets before I saw sense. oHonestly youy;d be better shotting with this as is and buying another in 303 to keep it company - these things tend to breed anyway.

Yep agreed. Probably not wise to go messing with the wood if you've not had any experience with these, or is the sportco barrel already a heavy profile? You could look for a standard light barrel.
