    Second Annual EOHC Winter Milshoot

    Second Annual EOHC Winter Milshoot

An Eastern Ontario Handgun Club (EOHC) sanctioned event brought to you by SKScanuck and Andy.

Saturday January 24, 2009 from 1:00-3:00. Sighting in from 9:00-1:00, so don't show up at 12:55 and expect to sight-in. Match goes Blizzard, Rain or Shine. Spectators welcome.

Cost: $5.00 to cover targets and coffee. $5.00 covers participation in 1, 2 or all 3 events.

No advance registration required. You do not need to be a member of EOHC.

Event Description (permitted firearms and courses of fire):

    For the Rifle Match:

    Permitted Rifles - Military Division

Only unmodified milsurps of WWII or earlier design with iron sights may be used - no "bubbas" or sniper guns. Must be as issued, full military wood & sights, no exceptions. Based on this definition, for example a 1950's Garandicon, Mosin M44, Irish contract No4 MkII and Spanish Mauser bolt gun are in, but the SKS, FN-49, and a scoped, Mojo'd or peep-sighted Yugoicon 24/47 are out. If you are not sure if your gun qualifies, please ask. Sling use is permitted and encouraged. Shotguns in military use, such as the Winchester Model 97 "Trench Gun" are permitted (slug only).

    Permitted Rifles - Open Division

Anything legal in Canadaicon. Scopes and tripods are permitted. Shotguns are permitted (slug only).

    Permitted Rifles - Rimfire Division

Any rimfire rifle. Scopes and tripods are permitted.

Course of Fire – Military, Open and Rimfire

There will be two stages of 10 rounds each, one at 100 yards, and one at 200 yards. Five minutes is allotted for the 10 rounds (including reloading) in each stage. Shooting will be from the bench in the enclosed section of the range - front support only allowed (and not provided).

Each shooter will fire a total of 20 shots with a maximum possible score of 200. Targets will be Shooting Federation of Canada 50 yard slow fire pistol targets.

No spotting scopes or spotters calling out shots is permitted.

All action and handling of firearms will be strictly controlled by an EOHC-appointed Range Safety Officer. Please read and be prepared to follow EOHC Range Safety Rules. Safety is paramount. See www.eohc.ca for that information as well as directions to the club.

Competitors provide the firearm and ammo. There exists the potential for kind souls to lend a firearm if the participant provides the ammo (a minimum of 30 rounds is suggested). If you lack an appropriate firearm, I suggest you post your request here and then take it from there by PM.

    Prizes

None- we'll list the scores on CGN.

    After Shoot Social

We'll go to "Johnny Canuck's" in Orleans - 900 Watters Rd, corner of Trim Road and Watters.

Would it be possible to bring a friend along to shoot who does not have a PAL? Shooting my rifle, under my supervision?

    Thanks,
    Eric
