New M1 Carbines owners aks before bidding!

Many people try and mislead people point to reference books as having all the answers. Many times the writers of these books lift information from someone else and continue spreading bad information. This link is one:

M1 Carbine Hammer B R in A Double Box for Rock Ola Unissued Part | eBay

I harp on this particular hammer because, you can not always say a W is a Winchester, R is a Rockola and U is not always an Underwood.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Same seller was passing off Cast hammers and Repro Type III Safeties as USGI,
Fellow member here FTD and I remember very well !
Mostly buys on GB and then sells whats allowed on ebay.
Many NOS parts coming from bulk packs dated from the 50's,60's and early 70's from USPARTS, PARTSFORYOU, USPARTS AND MORE etc. NOTE: these were advertised for what they were, by the listed sellers above.Note: I'm not knocking USPARTS,PARTSFOR YOU, USPARTSFORYOU and USPARTSANDMORE, as I said they were upfront with their descriptions.

    Example of bulk pack buy:
USGI M1icon Carbine Sears, Box of fifty (50) NOS : Small Rifle Parts at GunBroker.com

The Buyer/Seller in question Has made Many Many purchases from ABCLEIGH, M1CARBINEPARTS.COM,
Sells using a different, slightly tweaked name on GB:

GunBroker.com - View User Feedback: MThoghunter

    First hand experience,
I bought a T3 safety after leaving Pos+ feedback for him. Ended up being a Repro, After- melting off the dried on grease, a closer inspection of measurements, milling, finish and its weight. Yes it's weight!
Back at the time I was able to search his purchases and seen he had bought aprox 35 in a package, a few sold on GB, but most went over to Ebay for the bigger$. IIRC I gave under $20 shipped for my repro safety.

    Like the OP stated, ASK!

    FWIW,

The worst of all this is, a new person will buy this out of emotion and later find out they have been duped! Doing homework, researching for yourself will surely save someone from disappointment.
