Pictures are from top to bottom:
1) Crystal Mountains in the Desolation Wilderness (west of lake Tahoe) taken from the Big Hill Fire Tower, west side in Crystal Basin
2) Union Valley Reservoir with Crystal Mountains in rear, Eldorado County, Crystal Basin area
3) South fork of American river below Sly Park
4) White Rock dam, Placerville, CA
5) Camino Powerhouse, on the upper American River below Sly Park
Not counting my 90 mile round trip commute to pick up my patrol jeep, I average 225 to 250 miles a day on patrol for a 12 hour shift. After all, someone had to keep the Mujahadin from blowing up sacramento's power plants and dams!

I've lived here all my life, Born in LA, moved up here when I was 4
People absolutely have no idea how wild most of California is. It's not all San Fran weirdos or LA gangbangers. It is mostly pristine wilderness and nowhere near as crowded as people think. If we could just have a huge political flush, it would be the paradise it was when we were young. Try the East side of the Warner Range up at Cedarville, Ft Bidwell, or Eagleville. Wonderful pure springs blowing out of the mountains down into the Nevada border. The desert starts right there heading East. You can drive for an hours and see nobody. I used to hunt big mulies up there.
