Great find there with a 6 million Rock-Ola. The N16 trigger housing is for National Postal Meter. They only used the first two types of housings if I remember right. As for as you barrel goes, Rock-Ola quit stamping the date on them at some point. I hope you get some pictures up.

Rock-Ola stopped dating barrels after June 1943. The correct trigger housing would be a type 4 which is the stamped and brazed type with Rock-Ola stamped on the right side of it. How are the parts inside the housing stamped?

The bolt is wrong, it should be a round one that late in production. The rear sight could be right since that one is one of the ones they used. The front sight doesn't sound right though. Everything else sounds like the typical post war mods.

You're going to have to get a better camera for the pics. They aren't clear enough and don't worry about the serial number. Posting it won't glean you any trouble. If you don't want to post it then just publish all but the last two numbers. Put XX in for them. Your stock group has been altered so it's not correct. It looks like the whole rifle went through a rebuild to M2 status, hard to say where the flat bolt came from. I'd say it's a shooter in good shape. Maybe you should check to see if the M1icon was altered to M2...you say it has the M2 slide.
    Regards, Jim

Someone personalized the stock. It has no collector value.

The flat bolt may be right for his carbine. Remember that what ever was on hand was used till it ran out. Rock-Ola did use the type 3 round bolt in the 6 million range but it very well could have been in mixed use with the type 2 till all of the type 2 bolts were used up.
