WWII M1 Carbine stock

Hello to all!! I found milsurps while looking for information on what I believe to be a M1 Rock-ola stock. It was wrapped around an Inland receiver and barrel circa '44. I bought the rifle for my Father who set it in a synthetic stock (long arms and bad shoulders). I do not need the stock and was wondering who may be looking for one. 523 9110 stamped on stock as well as SG in a square, crossed cannons next to it, 5 3 E and Q-RMC in a rectangle in the sling well. (Rock-ola for Quality Hardware?). Not very pretty-has a good share of dings. I am looking forward to being "learned" by fellow collectors! Thanks much

Welcome to the carbine forum. I'm in Antioch, about 1 1/2 hours away from you.

I'm not the stock guru here. Others will chime in on that. But what would help are pictures. If you could post some it would help greatly.

5239110 is the serial number of the carbine that was in that stock when it was in Israel. Since that is a mid-'44 Inland number it probably is the number of the Inland referred-to. That generally means the carbine was in that stock before it left the USA. I'm sure somebody will be able to use it but I have no idea as to value. Look on ebay to see if you can approximate it there.

Something doesn't sound right about your stock. I do not find any information on S.G. using any stocks from Quality Hardware. Maybe Charlie
can shed some light on it. The 5239110 stamp sounds like that Inland carbine in that stock at one time was overseas. Serial numbers stamped on stocks are found quite often on carbines imported from Israel. The 53E would fit with a stock used by Saginaw Gear but coming from QH is a bit of a surprise.

IF the SG and Crossed Cannons Stamps are real, Add the 53E found in the slingwell (Number/letter codes often found on SG used stocks) Stock was accepted by Saginaw Steering Gear (SG)
RMC (Rock-Ola) Made stocks for QHMC.
But as y'all stated above, I can find no tranfer of stocks from QHMC or RMC to SG.
I see that IP received 1000 Stocks from RMC in the last weeks of 42, but can find nothing tying any stocks from S'G' / IP to SG.
Is it possible....... That one of these stocks sent from RMC to IP was marked (Intended For) QRMC, BUT.... was left over when SG took over the Grand Rapids, thus ending up on a SG carbine? Only angle I can figure.
Oh Boy....... Another Mystery.
