I just looked at your photos. They confirm what cosine and I thought it was. Finding an original finish early M2 with the original, nonadjustable bolt is a stroke of luck. If I were you I would be on the lookout for a 1903 front sight with finish that matches your rifle barrel. Lyman 48C sights show up frequently on the auctions and sell in the $150.00 price range. Original finish M2's are scarce. M2's with the early bolt are scarce. M2's with the original bolt numbered to the rifle are not scarce but about half of them I see have mismatched bolts. You were lucky on all three characteristics.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Herschel,
Thanks for the comments again for your PM.

Have Wanamaker's gun show coming up in Tulsa this next weekend will do some parts scavaging to see if I can complete the rifle.
As I told Herschel earlier got it to the range yesterday & it had no problem printing one hole groups at 25 yds.
So it is definitely special & shoots to boot.
