I've had cases with the sticky waxy paper, and cases with non waxy but still some oil. And not a case, but three IP in heavy paper. Seen other type packaging and repacks, but I don't have pictures of them.

Here's a picture of my best ones: Post war pouches - with new KI mags in unmarked brown paper wrap - very light oil. I didn't get these until 2006 and paid $50 for what's in the picture. eBay prices are maybe 3X that now. - Bob

Those pouches are post Korea. Man you need some earlier pouches.

Jim, I thought maybe I'd bait you into showing some more of your collection! - Thanks. I've got a few of the WWII pouches now too, but remember I started a lot later than you - and they're anywhere from $25-$40 a pop these days! I just left the magazines in the Post Korea pouches because the seller I got them from, had them in there. Now back to the subject of the pre-loaded mags. But first, are my unmarked magazine wrappers suspect? The only other wrapped one I have is the kind that sticks to the mag and leaves the (hard to get off) residue - it's like the wrapper in your first picture above, but with no label on it, either. - Bob

The mag cases I have seen come with 100 mags. One of the hundred has a label.

My case has the ones like the top photo in #12. Bought the case cheep , it was in a rewrap bag. Went through a 1/2 dozen or so layers of different wrap til I reached the inner box with a WW2 slogan. As I looked at it , mouth agape , one of the top flaps opened on it's own. Removed three mags that the paper was opening up on. All had the lightest oil coating on the outside of the mag. Nothing that would prevent a wipe and use , certainly not "goop" . The three were rewraped and placed back. Indeed , only one mag in the top row near the center had " the label " . It is called the "qualifier mag".

In years past one could find cases of both 100 original packaged and 100 repackaged. In the repacks the mags were wrapped in red and yellow cellophane or still in original paper wrapping. I have not seen a case in my area since 1982.

I have no documentation only a gut feeling, which is worth nothing, that carbine magazines were not shipped from CONUS to the theater of operations fully loaded or partially loaded. Regards, Rick.

I used to buy the cases of 100 mags (both original and re-wrap) when I did gun shows back in the late 80s and early 90s. I gave $1.50 per magazine, unless I bought two or more cases. Then it was $1.00 a magazine! Wish I could find a deal like that now. Oh well, I already have nine 30 rounders and about twenty-five of the 15 rounders, and only have two M1 Carbines!
