    Howa mag

A while back, I picked up a nice Royal Thai Howa M1icon carbine. It occurs to me that I have never seen a magazine specifically issued for that rifle. Does anyone out there know what mags the Thais used? I bet they could getplenty of USGI, but I also bet Howa had another source.

    Hi Mizzou,

I thought I ran across a Howa on one of the Auction sites the other day. For some reason, the mag(s) listed in it seem to stand out.
    I'll keep looking.

    For Now,
Some help from our Hard Working Buddy Jim,M,
    HOWA M1 Carbine

Carbine magazines were made in Japanicon for many years and were most likely the ones sent with the carbines. All that I know of were 30 round magazines and I think they are the ones marked with a J on them.

I though the "J" 30 rounders were "Jahn" US made for Vietnam era, according to Bill Ricca.

That is very possible. It's been a long time since I looked at the ones made in Japanicon. I do remember them being 30 round magazines.
