Looking to buy this rifle from a friend and he is not sure what this tag that is attached to it says or what it mean's ....anyone know ?

The picture is a bit to small and appears to be Japanese icon

. I know tha doesn't help but perhaps a better photo would help somone who does read Japanese coud translate.

I tried to enlarge when i posted but with no luck ...could it be a dog tag ?

The tag reads "Fujimoto" . Probably the soldier's name.
