    Question Need advice Romi AKM

Well, I'm ordering a Nodak NDS-1 EZ to replace the Krinks Krap that's on an older Romanian AKM. After looking at how expensive all the tools are for riveting and barrel pressing I kind of wondering what I should do. Buy the tools and build it? or farm it out for someone who has the tools to do it? I'm not scared to tackle the job by any means and in fact it looks pretty straight forward but the prices! Is there any one here that does this kind of work? PM me if you have any ideas. TIA

Well, I just heard back from Arizona Response Systems about replacing the receiver. $495.00 plus $35.00 shipping. I realize they are supposed to be the best but I could buy all the tools for less and then have them for others and maybe make a little dough. I've got some thinking to do! Dagnabbit!

Check out "AK forum" and look for a member "1969Mach1".
His in CA and host AK build parties. They have all the tools and know how to help you out.

    Bill,
I have built a few Romi's from kits. It isn't hard if you have the tools. The problem is if you only build 1. It is a big cost...
ARS will do it right, and you will have a good rifle. Up here the cost of an AK has gone up quite a bit. If you have a "professional" build gun, they will always be worth more than a home assembled one.
If you can, I would see about that build party MRI has mentioned. Its a great way to meet folks and learn about your rifle.
