    Bob,
If possible that marking is a R instead of a P,
I Also found R.K. Machine Tool Co. Detroit, Mi in War Baby page 390, listed as a misc part supplier to QHMC, but no letter code listed. Page 387 lists R.K. as makers of extractors for QHMC.

Is the hammer milled or cast?

    Hey Bob,
I passed a email your way.

It's possible the members here may think your a 'Newbie' after seeing your number of Posts.
    I know better

Wondering if you may have a Kal Machine works hammer on your hands.
IF... what looks like a P to you is really just a partial struck R
It may very well be one of the I.K. hammers made by Kal that was over stamped (Partially) with a R (now looking like a P)
IF......... If so, it could very well be a R (Over a I, but looks like a P) K hammer, that was redirected to Rock-Ola from Kal.

Take a look at this old thread with pictures of I.K. hammers.
One of which was over stamped with a R and sent to Rock-Ola.

Thanks to info once again shared by BQ.

    Bob,
Looks like JimF had/has one marked R.K. with the X on the other side.
I do believe without yet seeing it, you have a partial struck R that looks like a P....... R.K.

    Charlie,
Will send the hammer back to you, in fact I'll send the whole housing back.
Its a milled trigger, not cast. No M2 cut. The shape of the K is about the same as the IK RK ones pictured. The P might be an overstamp but it sure does not look like an R. Its still got the X on the other side too.
Should be there by the end of the week.

Bob has been a member since early 2009, he is not a newbie by any means.

I still have this hammer. Appears to have started out as an I. K. that was overstamped on the I to look like an R.

Its a Kal Machine Works hammer for Inland, sent to Rockola. The R overstamping the I, Kal Machine Works was Rockola`s only hammer subcontractor until around Febuary 1944.

I'll post some pictures after I get it.

    Bob,
Anything else you want to send?
Maybe one of the Spring tube RMC's would be nice or one of those ugly IP's you have!!
You gotta be tired of looking at all those old beat up SG and S'G's by now
Think how much nicer they'd look with some cool bayonet bands and metal hand guards
Don't forget how silly some of those others look with that line thru the makers name. Like I told you........ that means they were rejected

One of the springtube Rock-Ola's? Now Charlie, you knew that would get me going. I have been looking for years to find an original springtube.
