Kroil, kroil, kroil, and elbow grease.

just wow. one hour of scrubbing, and my 17's bore, which I thought was pitted, is much, much better.

I still have a ways to go, but I am optimistic. I think there's going to be wear left over, but this barrel will be clean(er) soon.

    I feel your pain.....

Days of scrubbing my M17s bore have got me to this...

Before it was almost black with crud. I've used almost every solvent/oil/bore paste on it.

Probably concidered harsh by some no doubt but I've always had good results using Remington 40x bore cleaner. Did'nt think to take a before photo but this is the after results of a Winchester 92 bore. Almost passed it up as very little rifling could be seen and I figured pitting would be severe at best but decided to gamble as these don't turn up that often around here. Not the best pics but pitting is light, lands sharp and it actually has a pretty good shine to it when viewed up close and personal. What a relief.

Have you tried CVA's Barrel Blaster?

I just cleaned up a Trapdoor barrel with it. Superb results.
