Here in Canada we are hearing of shortages in some areas however nothing serious as of yet. I expect there will be problems with the most popular cal's in the near future as we are dependant on supply from the US and it isn't going to happen.
I have been fortunate to have the means to buy when the price was right. Have a fairly pentiful supply of most cal's and have been buying a fair amount in the last couple of months. Many up here are saying there will be no shortage but that is wishful thinking at best especially in high population areas.
The shop I buy from has a owner that is wise and always willing to purchase anything if he can get a decent price. Was told by a friend who works there occasionally that he got a order of 300,000 CCI .22 about a week ago. I have seen prices up about a dollar on a brick of 500/525 .22LR but no gouging so far.
I do know most of my frineds have abundant supplies of most cal's (you can never have too much IMO) so not too concerned but we all agree with what is happening in the US Canada is probably going to be "sucking wind" when it comes to supply in the near future.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I stopped by the gravel pit again today while on patrol. The guys who started shooting yesterday as I was leaving (the guy who bragged about is $1 a round ammo for his AR) left me a nice pile of 223 and 5.56 brass, about 400 to 500 rounds! He shot up $400+ worth of ammo! I took it and filled a gallon ziplock overflowing. Sure I have a 20mm can of 223 brass and don't reload it, but someday I may!

I do all the reloading for mine, I couldn't afford to shoot if I bought factory around here. I've been picking up brass for years and have scads of it for all my calibers. I don't know how the young guys afford to buy factory. It's no cheap deal anywhere.

A local Dunhams Discount sports has 223/ 5.56 on the shelf. Wolf... $9.99 per 20. Last week they didn't have ANY.
I also heard that the local Cabela's has .223/ 5.56ammo, but a limit on the boxes. I also believe its Wolf, but haven't verified price or quantity.

This year I have sold $1600 of stockpiled ammo and have sold a Styer Maadi for $1800. Service ball LC 30-06 sold for $1.10 a round. Guns and ammo is the new currency of the century.
One blond lady asked if I would trade ammo for sex and I said yes if she had the right ammo.

I have been buying for a while so the sudden panic really isn't affecting me that much. I was buying for my retirement because I knew on a fixed income buying factory was going to be out of the question so I was just going to reload the empty's,but now it looks like the components will probably be just as out of reach. I have to admit the humor I have found in the friends and co-workers who suddenly have decided that having a firearm might be a good idea. Of course these are the same people that wanted to borrow "something" during the riots out here in 92. Some things just never change.

I admit the panic hasn't really caused me any problems, as I have 1,000 to 1,500 rounds of factory ammo for almost everything I shoot, and I reload for most calibers I shoot heavily. It is sad, though, for those that didn't.

I all ways plan on having 100rounds for every firearm as a rule of thumb, but bought a case each of 5.56 and 7.62 the Wednesday after the election. Not that I would sell but if you can find it, its doubled or almost tripled in price. Even all my CMP 30.06 has gone way up. Yes we are living in some crazy times. The days of an hour at the indoor with my son are on hold for awhile.
