Bought another Ross M1905

Got it at Cabela's in Marysville, WA. Probably has been reblued, but still nice shape. Unfortunately missing the handguard and sight hood.

The barrel contour at the receiver, the enfield sight and the flag safety indicate this may be a MkII** or the first MkIII as it was called early on. If it is , what a great find. It should also have a 30.5 inch barrel, no military markings on the butt and a serial number on the barrel just ahead of the receiver. The barrel on the MKII** was heavier than the other MkIIs and had a 16tpi buttress type thread rather than the extremely coarse thread of the other MkIIs. These were sold on the civilian market and used in the military for target rifles. I hope this rifle is one of those. Regards. Tom

The new rifle, while it has no serial number or "Canadian proof" does have this diamond shaped stamp on top of the chamber area on the barrel with the letters 'HFN' inside.
