    German used VZ33 carbine

I picked up this VZ33 at the somewhat local Cabela's in Marysville, WA. FS marked, came with a very nice K98kicon sling. Bolt has been blued and renumbered in the German style. No import marks, no cleaning rods, but still very nice. Only the second one I have seen in over 30 years of collecting.

    Here is the rifle:

I originally went to Cabela's to buy a Bow for my daughter. No bow to be found (recurve, not compound) but at least I did not get skunked.

    Nice carbine.
Check to see if it will take a regular VZ 24 bayonet.
If it does not you may have a VZ 33/16 (?) carbine issued to, the interior ministry, or another non-military ministry, if I remember correctly.
The bayonet handle should be longer than a regular bayonet handle.
I had one years ago and the sighting starting at 50 metres jogged my memory.
The correct bayonets are hard to find

I could not figure out how to edit my post #6.
The designation for the carbine used by the Finance Guard, which was a custom and border protection armed service under the command of the Czechoslovak Department of Finance, the designation was VZ 16/33.
I suspect a faulty memory, but it was just 40 years ago I owned the carbine.

One of the finest 16/33 I have ever seen. Down East Trading had one a few years ago but I don't recall if it was as nice as your example.
I have a 16/33 but someone installed a ramp front sight cut the bayonet lug and cut side swivel on the middle barrel band. The rest of the gun is all matching but will never look as good as yours.

I have a VZ33 but it has a ramp front sight installed and an altered middle barrel band.
I am going to get it restored down the road. But I need the front sight protector and a new band or rebuilt band.
Anyone out there with these items, or can give me directions to obtaining them, I would be grateful.
    Thanks
    Al
