    My first restoration

Its almost done a Britishicon made No. 4 Mark 1/2. After learning the difference between a mark 1 trigger and a mark 2 and getting a Mark 1 stock then a mark 2 set of wood and the front and middle band I'm all but done.

I've had a spike bayonet for this rifle since my dad died almost 40 years ago.

Next thing DKTB, is to get that bayonet and scabbard stripped down and sent down to Brian at BDLicon and ask him to bead blast, phosphate and paint it as per the EMER, leaving the blade a dull grey and you'll have a perfect matching set.

    Hi
Very nice looking rifle, the sling should be reversed also don't touch that bayonet it looks to be chrome plated for parade use and is of far greater value than a standard one

Yes, looks chrome plated. You were lucky to get such nice furniture. It´s turned out to be a beaut.

Got to disagree chaps.......... If that scabbard (and the bayonet presumably) is chrome plated then I am a piccollo player. That's a scabbard that's been sanded down to within an inch of its life and left to go rusty - unless you're looking at a different one to me Boris!

I have to admit that I did several parades with bayonets, including one as the quarterguard for the Duke of Edinburgh (but that's another story for a rainy day,,,,,,,,,, see the Centurioin tank saga.....) and guess what............. I NEVER had a chromed bayonet, ever.......

Perhaps the Canadians chromed their bayonets, looks to me like its chromed and the chrome is flaking off the scabbard. Here in NZicon ive seen a chrome No 4 mag and a chrome 1907 bayonet.
    Keep Calm
    and
    Fix Bayonets

Chrome rifles and bayonets.................. Remind me one day to tell you about the Iraqi Palace guard chromed rifles and bayonets. The chroming looks as if it was done by the same people who chromed the bumpers of your MGB's. Pure cr4p...........
