    Question Turk 38

Yesterday I picked up a very nice Turk Mauser 38. Its about the size of a small bus but is incredibly clean. I'm going to be shooting this weapon, I just checked the headspace and it's 0.003" over nominal so off to the range it will go. I have several cases of mil-surp ammo, doe's anybody have any suggestions as to which may give the best results? I have Germanicon, Romanian, Yogo and other assorted Eastern Europe stuff.-SDH

The Yugoicon privi Partisan has always worked well for me. What vintage do you have? Might be corrosive. I'd assume it was unless you know for sure

How's the muzzle wear on it? Many of the Turks I see with otherwise perfect bore have washed out rifling at the muzzle from sloppy cleaning techniques.

Yes most of the ammo I have in that calibaber is corrosive and I clean the weapon accordingly. In fact I clean all my weapons as if they shoot corrosive, it reduces those unexpected surprizes. As for the muzzle, there is some minor cleaning rod wear, but not too bad. I am looking foreward to the test drive and be assured I'll be using Privi-Partisan, Thanks much!-SDH
