First 1903 - Pics
I recently picked up my first 1903 - a Remington 1903a3. Most parts are stamped with an R, except for the bolt which is marked NS. The stock has some arsenal (re-arsenal?) stamps and a square P. Here is a link to some photos, let me know what you think and if you can tell me anything about the rifle. The sling is a reproduction I had laying around for my Garand
and did not come with the rifle. Thanks!

The rifle has been refinished and overhauled. The NS bolt is a nice touch (dating from the 1930s.). Can't tell from the pictures, but is there marking or writing on the top of the bolt body?
The CSAA is a San Antonio Arsenal overhaul stamp (as is the "square" P). The OG stamp is from Ogden Arsenal and is probably post-WWII.

There is the NS on the top of the bolt handle, the number 3 on the bottom of the bolt handle. The extractor is marked with an S. The bolt sleeve and the safety switch are marked R. I don't see any other markings on this assembly but I have not taken it apart yet.
I have fired the rifle a few time but have not shot for groups from a rest, so I don't know its potential yet. I never thought I'd say it, but this rifle may have taken over the Garand's spot as my favorite rifle to shoot. The only issue I have found so far is that the rear sight is a little loose and can move during recoil. I've been reading elsewhere on this site about correcting that.

The bolt is a true mixmaster with a Smith-Corona extractor and the two Remington parts.
