1903 A1 Barrel swap advice please

    Hi,
I have a 1903 springfield, it was all original, when I got it 20 something years ago from the original owners son, His Dad's service rifle.
It's A springfield armoury 1903 #1312688, it was an all original rifle and I wanted to shoot it, but the Barrel was shot out. So I took it apart and cleaned it up, and installed a new Barrel purchased from Numrich Arms back in the days, before the Gestapo stopped us from doing things like that, I live in Canadaicon, so no Gun parts for me anymore.
Now assuming it's even possible, would it be worthwhile looking to trade or sell the Barrel I have, seeing as it's still brand new, but not the correct one. It's an R A 3/1944 2 groove A3, for a similar condition S A 1929 or later 4 groove for the A1.
I wasn't so bothered back then, I just wanted to go to the range, and I couldn't find a suitable one, in good condition.
Anyway before I make this one work for me, I thought I would run it by, people who have knowledge of these things, as I don't. I understand it's not so important on US rifles to have matching parts, but I'm not really sure.
I won't be keeping the rifle, once I've sighted it in and put a couple of boxes thru it, I'll be selling it to pay for my enfield addiction. It's a nice original rifle, once the Barrel thing is resolved, and it has no other issues.
Thanks for looking at this, and any helpful answers will be appreciated.

said barrel is from a 1903A3, and not an 03..
if you turned it down to fit the rear sight base..not much collector value left..
if you havnt installed a rear sight base, it may have some value...however,,getting someone to do a swap towards a nice 1903 barrel will be a chore.

If it was all original, I would have kept it that way and looked for another; if it had mixed parts, that would have been another story.

    Thanks for input

    Hi
Thanks for your input, no I haven't turned down the barrel yet, which was why I asked.
I picked it up, with two other guns, all three untouched. To me a new barrel for $54.95 in cosmo, was far better than a half or mostly worn one.
It was the Pre internet days and I don't remember many of these being around back then, or even many good parts for the A1's either.
Anyway it is what it is, and with the the lack of parts mobility these days, I think you're right my chances of getting a good A1 barrel in, or into Canadaicon probably slim to none.
I thought I would check in case, before I turn down the barrel and it's done for good. Seems the best option to me, already nicely chambered for shooting, and ready to go. Thanks for your answers, appreciate you taking the time.

Thanks, I'll look into that before I go whipping anything off.
