    M1A multi-tool

I have just acquired one of those curious multi-tool thingammyjigs that seems to be for use with an M1Aicon or M14.
How on earth is it used? And can it be used on a Garand? A link to a description would be very much appreciated.

This might be of service to you Patrick... http://www.surplusrifle.com/m14m1a/rifledisassembly/ it shows part of the use. Also it's a screw driver, brush storage, rod handle, aids in bolt stripping.

Yes, that's the gadget that has me puzzled! The use as a spanner ot T-handle is obvious. The two end functions are not.

The closed end is the bolt face stripping tool. Works the same as the M1icon more or less. Push in the ejector and turn until the extractor comes out. The other end holds the ratchet brush. The small protrusion on the closed end is the screw driver. That's about it.

The open end is also used to load and unload magazines. The same protrusion on the bolt tool end is used to open and close the gas valve.
