    Schmidt & bender

Found myself the owner of a few S&B 6x 42 telescope spares so have been looking for a suitably beaten up 6x 42 S&B scope to use them on. But some/many of those I see for sale seem to have dovetail or other rails fixed directly onto the scope tubes.

Can anyone tell me if these rails (as opposed to the usual rings.....) are easily removeable?

    Thanks

Not removable at all without machining the rails away, AFAIK. But have never tried, so that's just my SWAG.
