    Stroke of Luck- New Toy

Last week I had the good luck to be offered a Parker Hiscock magazine. I've seen a couple come and go over the years, and scoring one had been high on my list ever since I found out about them early in my serious collecting days.
I couldn't say no, and today it arrived. Very happy with it. It is complete, in v good condition with components all matching numbers. I can't wait to get it to the Small Bore range and try it for myself. I fitted it up to the Patt14 No1 .22 Trainer for a pic earlier.

Cross off one more Holy Grail

does the Parker hiscock mag work in a regular No.2 Mk 4 .22LR or does it have to have a specific bolthead arrangement?

No, the underside of the bolthead needs to be beveled.

I found even with the correct bolt head they don't cycle smoothly.

theoretically though, the beveling of a standard .22 Pattern 14 trainer bolthead should make it work.

Anyone have drawings on the appropriate location and angle for the beveling of the bolt head? I have a complete mag and would like to try it in a rifle if I could modify a spare bolthead.

    Thanks,

    Brian B
