I need some help IDing a Mauser

What I have is a FN M1950 carbine, this much I know. The rifle is a sweet, cherry little thing but I am perplexed. It seems to be a Dutch or Moroccan carbine as it is marked Politie on the receiver ring as it should be. No other identifying marks and the serial number on the bolt is very worn but appears to match.

Here's the kicker, it is in 7x57mm which if my research is correct means it should have been an early Colombian contract as they later converted the 7s to 30-06 plus all the Colombians had crests and no Dutch Police markings. The barrels on these rifles are not serial numbered but all of the Belgiumicon proofs are there and the barrel seems to be original to the rifle by the looks of it.

It shoots well and it's just a dang good looking carbine. My idea is this could be a mismatch barrel on a Dutch rifle or a mismatched receiver on a Colombian rifle. Ideas?

The top of the receiver has been ground smooth. No other ideas, looks nice to me.

No response yet from a email to FN, not that I am really expecting any. I have done some more digging on my own and here's some updated possibilities. I am now almost positive that the rifle started out life as a Venezuelan FN 24/30 Carbine in 7mm Mauser and at this point I feel that the stock and barrel match and at some point the receiver was replaced using a Dutch FN M1950 police receiver. Now whether the receiver was supplied as a replacement by FN when the rifle was in service or not I do not know at this point. So my hypothesis is that rifle at some point got FTRéd either in Venezuela or Belguim and a spec receiver was used without regard to National Crest as these rifles were most likely going back into storage at their home station. A guess. :?:

I added the stubby 24/30 cleaning rod, sling and muzzle protector and now waiting on the M1924 long export FN bayonet to arrive.

Just to give you an idea of how short these little police carbines are, if you set this up beside my M44 Mosin the Mauser is a full 2 inches shorter than the Mosin!
