I owned both and sold my CZ52

the Chinese T54-1 Tokarev is a better design in my opinion, also easy to convert to 9mm Luger, I found a new Norinco M213 barrel & bushng and converted mine to 9mm

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I like both designs, however, it is the fact that the cz has a factory safety and the toks have those unreliable import safetys that I feel like going for the cz.

The Tok has a half cock and that is how it was carried, won't shoot can't be made to shoot by dropping. Lots of folks have posted they removed the importer safety and plugged the holes black plastic push buttons from hardware or electronics shops. The trigger action is a direct copy of the Peterson from the Sig 210 a highly prized top shelf design. Mine constantly shoots to center at 100 meters. I will admit I have only fired one CZ52 but it not as refined as the Tokarev. They were also highly sought after when I was in Viet Nam but always in very rough shape with little finish. This never had an effect on reliability as long as we could find a few rounds of ammo. Both the pistols I recovered were snatched by officers in rear areas. The CZ never served long enough to pass through many upgrades. Just saying. today as surplus ammo is drying up I have been making my own brass, even at a range with a hard deck it's almost impossible to recover all your brass. Just my .02 after reading the learned posting here.

    Cheers

MJ, don't take this personally, but that's crap.
