Good, simple, long lasting quality knife?

I am looking for more a camp/utility knife, of the older "multi-tool" or as its commonly called "Swissicon Army knife" style.

I have seen many variations of older ones dating back to the Second World War. I'd rather avoid a Plastic Fantastic Swiss branded knife by the way. Hence why I am posting here as I know many of you know the older all steel knives from the past.

What would you suggest is a good knife to use that will offer me many more years of continued use above and beyond what the knife has currently been used for?

    Neat Claven,

You mentioned 2 out of the 3 types of pocket knives I was looking at including this Camillus.

That looks like the old Canadianicon Army issue knife. I think I have one of those in my Lineman pouch. I was glad to see it replaced with the Gerber tool.

Went to Le Baron today and I picked up one of these:

Its the "parent" of the new Swissicon Army issued knife. Same tools and features, different casing for the Army. Its a One Handed Trekker.

Don't ask me why, but I kind of like it. And for 40$ its cheap enough I can replace it in a year and not feel bad about it if it doesn't preform like I'd want it to.

I though you didn't want a commercial "swiss army knife"?
