Not the best of quality, unfortunately - but attached a few rare pictures of the L42 in action in Northern Ireland c1978

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Early/mid 70's I'd say from the rubbish flack jackets and RGJ maybe..... Unless anyopne can see differently. Not a lot of cover there for a sniper or anyone using it in the sniper role

I believe the true operators goal was not to be seen and definitely not photographed on the job. Just my thoughts no soapbox involved.

MJ, don't take this personally, but that's crap.

Milan.......... Yep. I thought that Milan had put tanks out of business. That was until I saw Javelin in action! Any nation that buys tanks nowadays must have money to burn. Lioterally if it gets zapped by Javelin! So effective and soooooo simple to use that my little boy had mastered the simulator within a few minutes!

In that case I suppose it's lucky for the tankers that the Iraqis didn't have more effective anti tank rockets when the coalition got to the cities.

The Iraqi RGuard so said had Milan in Gulf-1 but didn't have effective fire controllers. In fact, they didn't have effective riflemen either now that I think about it!

Simon, I possibly know your brother. I was 3 RGJ and did a stint in Milan platoon.
Just picked up this bad boy that's going on display with a couple of platoon photos
