A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. You're also lacking the Parker-Hale .22 conversion of the Pattern 1914 rifle. But I guess that one is hard to get, I'm unable to find one since years now.

The irony about these little RAF .22" No7 rifles is that they were still inservice with the RAF Cadet Forces, in both the ATC and the public school RAF Cadets until well into the 80's - albeit that spare parts were non existant from RAF Ordnance stocks which as I seem to recall, all came from Stafford somewhere. The Armourers shops would occasionally reduce one to salvage just for the spare parts. But to be honest I NEVER saw one that would even remotely conform to the No8 EMER regarding CHS which was just as well because like the No8, there were 8 (or was it six for the No7 rifle.....) sizes of bolthead. Mind you, they just didn't wear out

i missed the Parker Hiscock mag on the second rifle from the top the first time I looked at the threads. Very nice!!!

I missed the PH mag as well. Wasn't looking for it in the Sht .22 II, though. It was only approved for use in the Sht .22 MkIII and the Patt14 .22 trainers. (LoC 17621 21 Dec 1915)

I know most of the later trainers are hard to find here in Aust, did you import any of your pieces?
