    SRS Check

Just bought a documented USMC 1903 Springfield. Was curious what an SRS check would show, could someone please look up serial number 1024343?

    Thanks!

Huh .. you were the one who has outbid me! But congratulations on it, having a receipt which confirms it as a USMC rifle is better than a SRS hit (and no, it's not listed - I've checked before I placed a bid). Would you mind telling me what your maximum bid was?

What you paid for it was a good price!

My max bid was $2388, and was considering bidding more if I was outbid. I primarily collect early WW2 USMC, and have a lot of interest in Guadalcanal/Raider items. I was surprised by the lack of interest in this rifle, without you and another fellow bidding on it I could have gotten it for $700. Big Larry had one documented with a USMC sales receipt like this one which was the only one I'd ever even heard of. I researched this Marine on Ancestry.com and he retired in 1958, and he bought this rifle in 1953. Previously I'd heard Marines had an opportunity to buy one at retirement if certain conditions were met but he got this one 5 years before retirement.

Well, it was described badly and not really advertised as being an USMC rifle. Therefore also no bidders.

Edit: would highly appreciate it if you could post better pictures of the rifle and the receipt!
