Just wondering how many of you guys know about this modified Lee Enfield. I saw one at the museum after I first learned of its existence. This one is for sale - it wont be cheap! There was also a semi-automatic SMLE which I only just found out.



Pretty cool!

These were developed in New Zealand due to a shortage of light machine guns.

Why has something been starred out? I think I originally said .......museum *** training wing....' Let's see again.....

Yep, done it again. How do I say 'com' but spelled with a U instead of an O. But you get my drift! OK then, I'll accept defeat and say '.....museum/training wing'. Is that better?

I did have a good look at ours but Frank Skelly told me that there were many (?) variants. Mechanically, it looked like a right dogs breakfast. Mind you, I had been brought up on Brens

Re the photo too...... I have seen a couple of those L1A1's with a pistol grip screwed through the bottom of the handguards. Someone tell me that it's not just a screw....., please! There MUST be more to it than that. The first round and recoil moments would surely just tear the grip away
