Need some help reassembling my L1A1

    Hi everyone,

I have an L1A1 parts kit and I'm working on reassebling the sub-asseblies before I move back to Pennsylvania and can get an upper receiver for it.

The problem I'm having is with the Gas Cylinder Plug Assebly. It will fit into the face of the Gas Block, but can't be turned to lock into place. What am I doing wrong here?

    Thanks in advance!

You have got to press in the spring loaded plunger that forms part of the gas plug. If the plunger doesn't press in and out, then it's siezed.

If it has siezed then the best thing you can do is throw it because it'll sieze again! The second best thing you gan do is to press it in VER slightly so that the rivetted portion at the opposite end comes free then dunk it it thin oil. This slight movement will allow the oil to pentrate inside to the spring and plunger.

Thanks, Peter! I'll try that when I get home from the office tonight.
