10 yrs ago or so I examined a bunch of the longitudinally split PS cases which I found with original packaging and reported the affected lot numbers on the old Culvericon Garandicon forum. I note that the photo in the first post shows a couple of rounds of soft point ammo. I'd be leery of this stuff unless I could confirm the lot numbers as being OK. Soft point ammo seen in the first post indicates commercial or home reloads and is not original military ball ammo. Who knows what propellants are used in commercial ammo or reloads. It generally yields a higher MV which is achieved by using slower burning propellants than those originally specified for the Garand. The Garand runs well with bullets in the 150/165/168gr range with IMR 4895 or IMR 4064.
