    svt 40 /avt 40 parts?

I recently bought a svt stock because the one with the rifle had been altered. (The guy that did it called it "custom"..right!) Anyway, when I received the stock I found that it was a avt stock. The avt stock is thicker. Does ANYONE know if the svt buttplate will fir the avt stock?? AND/OR, does anyone know where I can get one if it IS different!
    Totally frustrated
    Thanks

You should be fine with the SVT buttplate.
I think the AVT stock is only thicker at the wrist.

(PS: PM me if you want to get rid of the altered SVT stock)

Thanks Skippy, I think I'll go ahead and order the svt plate. I WILL pm you if I decide to sell the other stock. Either way, it won't be until I have completed the avt stock.

    COol,
I only ask because I've got a very nice matching non-refurb SVT, and I'm constantly scared of ruining the stock when I shoot it, so something but ugly and worthless to a collector is just what the doctor ordered.

Hey, I am hoping someone here can help me out. I just picked up an SVT 40, and I have tried to take it out, however It jams after the first shot. The gas system is set at 2 andI am using the Czechicon silver tip ammunition. I'm new to gas systems, so i dont know if i should adjust something or get different ammo... ideas or thoughts?

I have a SVT-40 which is missing a bolt or screw which went completely through the stock just in front of the clip but behind the chamber. I do not know what this part is called, but I would like a replacement. Do you know where I might obtain one or what it is called?

dont know if this ever got answered but sounds like you are missing the crossbolt, you can order it from numrich GPC, here is the link

I had to order a new one myself when I got my SVT because the one in it barely contacted the threads and SVT stocks are made of unobtainium wood
