Sure looks like cammo and I think the double hook is just caught on the helmet netting.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Yeah, makes sense on the hook. But my comment about the camo was that it is not something you see regularly in the Army in Europe. I'm thinking.

I think the Camo suit in the picture is the same as what we saw previously (last 2 years) issued to and worn by USAicon combat engineers. There are pictures of them on this forum somewhere.

Personally, I wouldn't want to wander around in a free fire zone wearing items of captured uniform. I would suspect that there would be too great a risk of taking 'friendly fire' by a very nervous, trigger-happy replacements.

Yes , very limited issue to the 30th inf. division and an armored division. Looked very much like the USMC camo , but is not reversible . Was pulled due to 1 ) friendly fire and 2) didn't work so good if you were moving and we tended to be always moving ( attacking ) .
