    Did I do good

I went to a gun show yesterday and had made my planned purchases when the wife talked me into going back in for one last look around. I came upon a table that had the usual "sporterized" LE and was fussing at my wife about it when the dealer motioned me over. He proceeded to present a MkIII to me in what I perceived to be very good condition. We haggled price and I left with it for $250. What do you think?

    Yes, all number match!

It has markings all over it and I have yet to find a source that explains them all but I am very satisfied with the condition of the weapon. The lands and grooves are strong and the action is tight.

Nice find at a good price

The main info is on the first picture - Date of manufacture (1918?), by which arsenal (Britishicon Small Arms), and model (ShtLE Mk3*, or No1 Mk3*)

So what you got is And this is what it means

GR is King George (Georgius Rex)
1918 or 1913 Year of manufacture
    BSAco Birmingham Small Arms Company
SHT LE Short Lee Enfield Also called a No1 Mk III*
    III* is Mk III*

That's what all of that stands for.
