    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.     lovely. stock has been sanded, but not to an horrendous amount. rare code as well.

    It may be my iPad but I see no evidence of sanding. Are you talking about the vertical lines on the butt?

    that's a walnut stock. it is far lighter than it should be. here's my walnut stocked 98k

    I wouldn't say it's sanded because it's lighter. Lots of things can effect the color such as, oil, dirt, storage conditions and maintenance over the life of the rifle. I can't see any tell tale signs of sanding like rounded corners or micro scratches.

    i'm certain it's sanded, but a close up shot of the waffenamts on the stock would prove either way.

    it does not look sanded to me but I could be wrong, i do think the stock may have been cleaned some at some time or another.

    i'll eat crow on saying "sanded". it has been cleaned but not with sanding.
