Bisley Trafalgar Fair and next weeks Classic

    I went yesterday (Saturday)

What did you think of it?

A number of 4T's - varied a lot in price(£2000 - £4000?) - not sure how honest some of them were.

    Any L42's?

Only one Enforcer - including case. I was surprised at the asking price but the owner (Forum member?) pointed out that they are very rare now and I can remember very few legit ones coming up in the last year or so.

Didnt see so many Parker Hale/AJP sights as in the past either.

A number of the usual stallholders seemed to be missing - declining interest or are they likely to be attending the Classic Fair next Sunday?

    John

The £4000 looked OK to me and was from the Irish Army via that bloke in Northern Ireland who seems to have picked them all up.

Something to do with a twenty two and half per cent increase in price to the stall holders?

BTW, did you visit our (HBSA) Section 7 Exhibition? Entry Fee held at one new pound.

Was all ready to go but (was at work) needed to strip some parts from a engine, was after some ammo and a crack with DRP & Dave, Simon and Chosenman, hope all went well ? My mate got the ammo (I think) Germanicon surplus 7.62 x 51, ( I use it for testing but an excellent round)

    Trafalgar fair Bisley

Surprised to see the growing number of 4Ts repro parts and made-up sniper rifles at the
Trafalgar fair at Bisley, its harder to find genuine rifles.:

Sorry you couldn't make it Big Duke - I was looking forward to a natter. Even so, chosenman, Thunderbox, Valley Sniper, Simon, Nigel & a number of other forummers were present. The Ex-Irish 4T was nice & pretty honest, though I didn't look at it in great detail. Both of ours have been re-built but are real ones. I did see several dubious pieces there though, & not described as 'recent assemblies' as they perhaps ought to have been..........!

Yes, table prices are creeping up year on year and folk didn't seem to be buying either. I did sell a couple of rifles but they both went to the trade so I've likely just about covered my costs for the weekend.

Didn't see you leave on the Sat evening Rog, must have missed you with all the excitement of the hordes of punters flush with spending money

On a more positive note though I did pick up a very nice Aldis Pattern IV which is ex PP Co.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    Simon,
The aldis sounds nice. Was it a chance buy off the floor, or from a fellow collector/dealer? There was a chap carrying a nice cased PPCo around but he couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to sell it or not!

Sorry I missed you & Dave when we left but Nigel was available to watch over the stall for a few minutes after the shooting finished, so we grabbed the chance to ferry stuff over to the car whilst he kept an eye on things for us.

P.S. Do you think the aldis is off a P'14 or a SMLE? Is the range drum graduated 1 to 6 or 1 to 10?

Would have liked to be there but a very painful foot prevented the 8 hr drive from Edinburgh. Ian my trading partner said it was pretty quiet. Bit of a shame as I had some Germanicon scopes and Parker Hale sights for sale.

I'm afraid I was busy most of the day in the Army and then missed the chance later to come by for a chat later. What with getting a few reloading supplies etc., I don't know where the day went.
