    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     I have a 1942 poster listing what your war savings stamps could allow to be purchased. Helment and liner 11-25 cent stamp ( 2.75 vs 3.03 above ) . Garandicon 4-18.75 stamps ( $75.00 vs $85.00 ) . Wool blanket 27-25cent ( 7.00 vs 7.69 ) . Bayonet 20-25 cent ( 5.00 both listings ) . Complete mess kit inc cup and canteen 8-25 cent ( $2.00 vs $1.97 above ) .     I had a bad day when I saw that. Look on the bright side it's not pink. Yet. Sympomatic of larger problems I fear.
    Ask yourself one question when looking at that cover. What would Chesty do?
