    Any information is appreciated

I have an early made 1903 Springfield in excellent condition. Serial number 582189 marks production, I think, as 1914. Straight grip-S- stock is dark in great condition w/few small dings. Metal finish is also consistently very good. Barrel marked with "H.S/Bomb Ordnance/6-44". Stock cartouche is B.H.M and R.A-P below safety. Bore is good with sharp rifling. Action works very smoothly. Interested in any estimate of value and history as available. Wondering if there's a blurb in the SRS on this lovely. Thank you.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Nothing in SRS. BHM dates to pre-WWI. The rest of the rifle appears to be a mixmaster. Probably worth in the $400-500 range.

I agree with Rick. Likely in US Army service from before WWI to after WWII. Nice keeper for the right collector.
