To be quite honest with you Kim I can't remember.....................possibly 26.5mm., but don't quote me. Anyway, I'll get them done exactly the same as the originals (unless I get enough 'hassle' to do them in say, 1", as well).

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Roger i will hassle for 1" if i may be so bold. 26.5mm scopes are a little hard to come by in Aussie. I have the real deal but would like to leave them in the case and use another scope. Two sets would be nice. T.I.A.

Thanks Bindi. Looks like I'd better start taking note of 'expressions of interest'.

    Cheers.

I wasn't involved in any of the scope trials at Warminster (the optical part was done at the NPL and at Shrivenham incidentally) but two things ring out........ I had the old microfisches of the trials and the GREEN 6x 42 S&B telescope definately didn't feature and must say that I don't EVER remember reading about that Lyman permacentre scope either!

The one that did feature heavily was the big heavy ART scope ( FAR tooooo complicated) and a S&B with plasticised opptics that were, well....., crap for want of a better word. Far too easily scratched and SB wouldn't make glass lenses unless......... anyway.

There were some other ongoing but later trials and I seem to remember that comments on these and a BUSHNELL (very popular and cheap but.......) scope that scored highly

Ebay is the last place I,d stick one, SIB are still interested in these...... and a lot of other kit, I,m sure a forum member got a knock or call from them regarding a purchase of one, the seller in question had a few too many for there liking (it was the seller they were after).
