Thanks Brian. I've worked hard to get the correct kit it would have been easy to chuck in inappropriate ancillaries that look ok but I've searched for what is accurate for the rifle in its latter half of service. The M49 spotting scope in the pic lets things down slightly as its the US model, the MOD order specified a sun shade which I've searched high and low for but can't lay my hands on such a beast yet.

Nice set up mate......how much for the carpet, looks like MOD issue for Married quarters
All joking aside has your smock got the hook on the reverse sleeve, as someone told me last week they had dropped them off the smocks??

Phenomenal kit there chosenman - how did you get hold of the main event - the L96 - is it one of the police ones?

New smocks that is, I still have my smock and there is no hook on that either, so it must have been a personal decision can't remember as the sling hook would often be a pain, snagging in the oolloo

    Gil,
Hhahahahahah, my lads carpet in his quarter is better than that. I chose it because the pattern is a convenient grid system which allowed me to lay the kit out nice and straight!! The smock is circa 1990's and both hooks are present on the upper arms, in fact I also have an MTP sniper smock of current issue and the hooks are still in service, a feature unchanged since its introduction at the beginning of the 70's. The sniper smock in general has seen almost no change apart from the build quality which I think was at its worst on the Patt 84 smocks.
PrinzEugen, the rifle is ex military bearing a UA prefix. I turned over a lot of stones and knocked on a lot of doors until I finally got lucky. some of the ancillaries are proving harder to find than the rifle itself.

Thanks mate, I will have to sell it on Ebay as its my original, label confirmation for its status. They must have missed out on metal as they had no pots and pans to melt down when I got mine. I was with Oliver Cromwell so that must explain it then ha ha!
