    New Wood stove

I just finished putting in the wood stove and had the inspection. My buddy is enjoying the first day in the CAVE.

Nice pic. Cute pup. Been a cold one so far this fall in our neck of the woods. I know you appreciate your pooch. Got an empty bunk in my cave. My buddy of nine years I had to put down last weekend.

It is the one thing I miss from a couple of different homes I have owned. Nothing like a good woodstove and should I be in the mood to build another home it will have one.

gtodan, sorry about you loss, hope you get another dog when you are ready, pets are good for the soul.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

He's 12 years old. As long as they have good years where they get to be a good companion,,, lives well lived.

gtodan,it is a rough go. I bought a puppy the next day last time that happened. Little bugger sure picked up the pace in a hurry, chewed everything. LOL

-25 Celcius last night up here. The way it used to be in winter. Waiting to get the report the ice is on the bay. Head out to the other cave for some pickerel fishing.

I remember when I first put one in my old house, more of a modern big thing, didn't have a overnight burn etc, just burnt or went out, but the heat output was something else, we were lucky as it was an old converted coach house, and I,d plumbed it in at the rear of the original chimney (the original opening was now in the bathroom (the old tack room), but sealed off) the chimney was central in the house and after the first floor was on its own (four walls 3x3 ft)

My best mate loved it, in fact he got moody and wouldn't settle until it was lit, he got that hot you could bake spuds on him, as he wouldn't shift and got closer as the night drew in, of course this was a Doberman still with his tail, (like a dinosaur tail at times) and a whoosh of the tail when he got up to turn around would guarantee a smell of burning dog hair as it brushed against the glass.........

gtodan, Know what its like I had to put Butch down in 2010, we were lucky as we still had the Wife's terrier cross but when I had to get her put down last year............... not a dry eye in the house for two days.
