"Small Arms Training"
Volume 1 Pamphlet No1
Weapon Training
1942
Section 2
Drill rounds will never be used in aiming at a aiming disc held to the eye
Section Xi
Drill cartridges will not be taken on the range, except for use in stoppage practices. In this instance the drill cartridges will be taken to and from the range under the orders of the company, etc, commander
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Took the opportunity to down load the entire Shoot to Live manual from the website. What a fantastic resource. This manual is by far the best discussion on how to teach someone to shoot I've ever seen. Far better than anything the US has put together to include anything by the Marines. Hats off to the authors.

By doing so, there's a chance, albeit a very slight one, of drill and live rounds being mixed up in the future
Its not even slight if you are an unsupervised moron employed by Thames Valley Police. Firearms officer 'shot colleague with live ammunition kept in Quality St tin' - Telegraph

Dude broke a few of the Ten Commandments of firearms handling,,
Do not cover anything with the muzzle you do not wish to destroy.
Treat every firearm as if it is loaded at all times.
A moron indeed,,,,
