    Well , they were the only unit outside the Marines to get any in any number , and they traded some of thier plastic explosive stock to get them. The Paramarines had them , and they were turned in after they were disbanded , but some liked the guns so much they kept them and took them with them into the other units. That is why the guns show up in later battles . Not sure if the 1stSSF kept any when they disbanded or not.

    I noticed the staff Sargent has a carbine with an adjustable type 2 rear sight. I didn't realize they showed up in the middle of '44. I have a picture of a GI in Germanyicon early '45 with a type 2 rear sight.
