    1954.6 Chinese Type 53 MN

    Gents,
I present to you, my latest MN find! I am working to finish my Model 44 type collection. Well, the illusive (at least to me) Type 53 has been a goal for some time. I was just told recently that a local gun shop got in a few. The price was around $130.00. As I have seen "good ones" at gun shows go for more, I decided to inspect them. And sure enough, I got one!
Overall condition seems better than most report. I looked down the barrel, and it seems fair.

As being from CAI, it has those nice deep engravings...

The stock has some interesting cartouches. Rather light.... and not as many as some stocks I have inspected...

You can barely make out what looks to be... an A.... C.... J....
The only gripe that I have is the toe of the stock. There is a small crack forming there.....

The entire stock/ receiver matches itself. However the bolt does not...

A few more markings to feast your eyes on....
Unlike my other Type 44's, the bayonet is rather loose, but not dangerously so...

I will post more/ better photos as I clean out the yak grease!
