Nice rifle! Can you fill us in on the "details"?

03 1929 NM still trying to master pics

Have more but think this is one of 803 new rifles that year since the barrel date and the serial # match up.

It also has the PJ O'Hare sight cover (rear) and GI front cover with the Micronmeter not US marked.

    03 Nm 1929

Back in the day SRS showed this rifle in a batch of them. I understand that when the armory built them they used rifles in consecutive serial numbers. They all showed as NM

    Nice rifle, Col Whelan!

Here's my NM - #1370112. It took me a long time to find (and afford) this rifle. Needless to say, I'm happy I found it at all!!

    Nice rifle Rick

Very nice looking rifle. Like mine it looks like yours has very lightly applied serial # on the bolt. Haven't fired mine for some years but as soon as the weather breaks I will. I replaced the mainspring after last time out so need to try the new one. Had one misfire out of 60. Spring in it was way shorter than regular 03 springs so probably was shortened to change the trigger pull.

Now I have gone and located another NM early 30's vintage but very pricey so I have to decide what to rid myself of. Maybe I will get lucky and he won't sell.

I know what you mean - when you run into something like that, you don't know whether to hope he sells or hope he doesn't!!

I can't quite get the intestinal fortitude to take this out for a "spin", though.
