Like the Parker-Hale sight.Does it fit the original mount,or did it require drill/tapping ?

The Parker-hale sight has two studs on the back that fit into the recess for the backsight axis screw and the recess for the bolt-stop button.
The bolt-stop spring fits a slot across the sight body and a special screw replaces the axis screw, securing the sight body to the rifle.
No drilling, no alteration to the receiver at all.
In case you go looking for one---this one would not go on the Remington, the span of the holes was just a touch too long.
So, be warned, you migh need another rifle.
