Need help with a Savage No4 Mk1*

I have a Savage made No4Mk1* that i got a while back. It was sporterized which cut the stock down and destroyed it. So i know that i need to get a new stock set. My question is what are the differences between a savage and the british manufacturers. What handguards do i need to get, what wood should they be. Also it has a non matching bolt that does headspace properly but the problem is that it has a round cocking knob. Im not sure if this is correct or not. Finally if you guys could give me any leads on were to find these parts that would be much appreciated. I am located in New Jersey.
