A few interesting things BREN and STEN

Well I found a really rare relic Mk1 STEN for sale in Franceicon and a 7.92mm Bren for sale on gunbroker so thought I'd share.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Lightweight .303" Bren barrel on it.

The Mk1 Sten is very interesting. I would guess that this was one of the first dropped to the Maquis/resistance as we'd, er......., 'left' Franceicon by the time the Mk1 was introduced. Nice to know a bit of its history or where it was recovered.

Neat old Sten, the Bren could be sorted out...it would be a row to hoe...but it could be sorted...might need a couple of parts.
    Regards, Jim

I would love to know the history behind the STEN too, I hadn't realised we had dropped the Mk1 to resistance groups. I'll see if the Frenchicon seller speaks English, I'd love it my self but I with the way things are over here, I don't fancy the risk. I know it's Kaput but I don't want an argument with the powers!

I may be pretty naïve but it seems just an awful shame to destroy one of the greatest LMG's produced I only had a couple of chances to fire the Bren and thoroughly enjoyed it, and it is not the sort of thing you can just conceal nor is it a feather weight.
Seems like big brother again, the only real restrictions are placed on the honest persons whom enjoy collecting and shooting these pieces of living history as when I was at my stock makers he had 6 303's lined up for deactivation one was a MLE and another a Lithgowicon '16 complete all matching.................... just to gather dust hanging on a wall
Seems the only people who do not have any trouble with weapons are those that............... hhhmmmm are on the opposite side to the law abiders.
Still like I said if ................ is ever invaded I too will be on the shore with my wooden stick with a bang sign tied to it, and a pocket full of boondies such are the firearms laws here......nuff said

Welcome to the wonderful world of USAicon import law. The receivers must be torch cut removing 1/4" of metal in three places. After July 2005, barrels, bolts and breech blocks are also illegal to import in any condition.
